Keith Lewin
Keith leads Brunswicks' Health and Social Care team.
Keith has acquired over 30 years, a wide ranging expertise in commercial disputes of all types. He has represented clients, both as solicitor and advocate, in courts throughout the UK and has been involved in several leading decisions in he High Court and Court of Appeal. He has acted for many care homes relating to obtaining and retaining registration, and, additionally, is retained by companies specialising in such diverse areas as hyperbaric medicine and air transportation of the critically ill. In more recent years Keith has provided support, advice and representation to clients concerning inspection by the then NCSC and now CSCI, also, he provides strategic advice and representation on POVA and POCA investigations and liaising with a broad range of external professionals.
Keith acted as advisor to the Lithunaian Government on anti-corruption and counter-fraud measures in the state's provision of health and social care.
He is a regular contributor to a number of publications and is a sought after trainer and presenter. He is a co-author of "Care Standards - A Practical Guide" published by Jordans.
Andrew Dawson
Andrew leads Brunswicks' Regulatory lawyers.
Andrew has specialised in defending businesses, their directors and employees for close on 18 years. Before that he was a prosecutor - the classic "gamekeeper turned poacher."
Andrew has been recognised for many years as one of the country's leading regulatory lawyers. He has featured in many of the Legal Directories in relation to his work from as far back as 1991. Andrew has dealt with many high profile and sensitive cases over the years including allegations of manslaughter, corporate manslaughter, misfeasance in public office, and numerous health, safety and environmental matters. He has gained considerable experience in dealing with due diligence defence matters for businesses facing trading standards, weights and measures and food prosecutions. Necessarily this has also included product recalls.
In addition to his work as a defence lawyer Andrew also provides risk management advice. He is a well regarded trainer and presenter and is co-author of "Care Standards - A Practical Guide". Andrew wrote the sections dealing with enforcement and managing regulatory investigations.
